Overdue Update

Wow apparently blogging is similar to writing in our journals. We haven't written on our blog since October. Pretty sad.
In December we went home to Utah to celebrate Christmas with family. It was great to see everyone and for everyone to see Jadon. He did pretty good on the trip. There were times we could tell he was overwhelmed by all the new people and our attention being everywhere. He would get withdrawn and a little cranky for him. But there were lots of times he showed his cute and sweet personality that we hoped everyone would get to see and enjoy. It was a short trip that was very busy as we tried hard to divide our time with all our parents. We had a good time.
Jadon did pretty well on the plane trips. He would get antsy but we were pretty well prepared with snacks and things for him to do. The worst part of our flights happened on the way home. Jadon puked all over himself and us. It turned out he had a stomach bug that lasted for about a week. We had no idea because he is so pleasant until he threw up all over. Luckily we contained it and it didn't get on anybody else. The air attendants were great about bringing us lots of towels. We luckily cleaned it up pretty well, which was good because Jadon was the only one with a change of clothes for the rest of the day.
We have been able to go on more weekend trips. In February we went to New York City. We had a pretty good time. We were expecting it to be warmer than it was and weren't prepared for the wind and cold. Silly since it was February. We were able to attend the Manhatten temple. I went when we arrived in New York and Troy went that night while I was with Jadon in the hotel. The next day we were able to walk around and see sights. That's when it was really cold. It was also really foggy so we didn't get to see the Statue of Liberty or Empire State Building that day. But Troy found a place we could stop to see the Statue of Liberty in New Jersey on the way home. Not only was this stop a great place to see the Statue of Liberty but we also could see the Eiffel Tower from there. So we were able to see and do everything we wanted.
In April we were able to visit Aunt Katie, Uncle Gary and Paige. With Paige we went to the Air and Space museum and the National Zoo. Last year we took Jadon to the zoo but he was little and not interested. So we had been looking forward to taking him this year when he was a little older. Turns out he still wasn't very interested. He just wanted to run around. The zoo was also packed as it was spring break. It was still pretty fun. The day after, Aunt Katie babysat Jadon while Troy and I were able to go to the temple together. This was really nice because it had been quite a while since we had actually been able to go together.
In May we went to Philadelphia. It was so nice to be able to see the sights and learn more about our founding fathers. We also went to a couple of famous Philly Cheesesteak places - Geno's and Pat's King of Steaks.
Troy has sent in resumes to quite a few places over the last few months as he is getting ready to graduate. He also went to a career fair that actually really paid off. Attending the career fair and sending in more resumes landed him with two job offers. The one he accepted is in York, PA where they work with air conditioning units. So we will be moving to the York area in about 5 weeks. We are excited he got a job and for this opportunity in a new place. We are sad to leave State College as we have loved it here.
Last October we found out we were expecting another baby which turned out to be a little boy. We have been excited to have this addition to our family. Amanda worked until the end of May and has been off since. She will eventually look for the ideal nursing job once getting settled in York.
We have enjoyed our little Nathan Troy who joined our family on June 28th. He has dark hair and darker skin than Jadon. He has been healthy and pleasant. Amanda wasn't able to have an epidural as her platelets were too low, so labor was very painful for her. Luckily that was the only eventful part of the labor and everything has been smooth since. Amanda's mom came out a few days before and was a great help and we are looking forward to the visits of Troy's mom next week and Amanda's dad and stepmom in September.
